Why did I get a text about a wedding?

The couple sent it through WedBuild, with their names at the start. Its link is your own invitation. Reply STOP and WedBuild won't text you again.

Works on your phone

A couple you know is getting married, and they're planning it with WedBuild. When they text their guests, WedBuild sends the text for them, so it starts with their names, like "Anika & Dev: Hi Priya & Sam, here's our wedding website, just for you", then your own link.

What's in it

  • Your own link, starting app.wedbuild.com/r/. It opens the couple's website or their RSVP form already knowing who you are, so there's nothing to sign up for and no name to type.
  • Reply STOP to stop texts at the end.

Stop the texts

  1. Reply STOP (STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT and REVOKE work too), on its own.

  2. You get one last text: "You won't get texts from WedBuild any more. Reply START to get them again." That's for every wedding on WedBuild, not just this one.

  3. Changed your mind? Reply START. The couple can still email you, or send you their link on WhatsApp.

Good to know

  • Replying to the couple: the text comes from a WedBuild number, and your reply goes straight to the couple, in their Inbox.
  • Not sure who it's from? Reply HELP and you're told who the texts are for, and how to stop them.
  • Never at night. Texts arrive between 8am and 9pm in your own time, and never more than 3 in a day.
  • "Text me updates" on an RSVP form is your OK for WedBuild to text you for the couple: your link, reminders and news on the day, about 2 to 4 texts. It sits under your mobile number. Untick it next time you reply to take it back.
