What the AI assistant can do
On every plan it answers how-to questions about WedBuild. On Pro and during the trial it also answers from your own wedding and can make changes you approve.

Works on your phone
WedBuild has an assistant you can ask anything, in your own words. What it can do depends on your plan, so here's what to expect from each.
Steps
-
Open the assistant with the round button in the bottom corner of any screen. On a computer, Cmd + K (or Ctrl + K on Windows) opens and closes it too.
-
Type your question in the box (2) and press Enter, or tap a starter (1). The starters change with the screen you're on: on Guests, for example, they're Pending RSVPs, Dietary needs and Unseated.
-
Read the answer. Some answers come with buttons that open the right page for you, or a link to a help article with the steps, which opens in a new tab. Tap the thumbs up or thumbs down under an answer to tell us whether it helped.
What it can do on your plan
- Essentials and Standard: Help. The chat says Help at the top, and its button shows a question mark. It answers how-to questions about WedBuild, like "How do I import my guest list?", but it can't see your guests, budget or other details. Ask it something about your own wedding and it answers in general, with an Upgrade to Pro for the full picture button.
- Pro, and the 7-day trial: AI Assistant. The chat says AI Assistant, and its button shows a sparkle instead of a question mark. It can see your guests, budget, vendors, checklist, itinerary, seating, website and communications, so it can answer questions like "Which confirmed guests haven't been seated yet?" It can also:
- make changes for you, each one waiting for your OK. See Let the assistant make a change for you.
- keep your conversations on the AI Assistant page. See Ask the assistant about your own wedding.
Good to know
- Help is free on every plan. Everyone can send up to 50 messages an hour and 200 a day. On Pro, the assistant also runs on an allowance. See Check your AI planner allowance.
- It knows the screen you're on. On Pro you can ask "what's missing here?" and it looks at that page.
- Help articles, under New to this screen? in an empty chat, opens the help centre in a new tab, at the articles for the screen you're on.
- Your partner, planner or helpers get Help. The assistant that knows your wedding's details belongs to the account that holds the Pro plan. Anyone you share your wedding with can still ask it how WedBuild works.
- Check anything important. The assistant can get things wrong, so look at the page it links to before you rely on an answer.
- Clearing the chat (the bin at the top) starts a fresh conversation. On Pro, the old one stays on the AI Assistant page.
