Some events are just for a few people, like the rehearsal dinner or the hens. Make the event private, and only the guests you invite can see it or RSVP to it.

Steps

  1. Open Events from the sidebar, click the event and choose Edit. Under Who can come, switch Private event on (1).

  2. Choose Select invited guests (2). It saves your changes first, then opens your guest list. Or choose Save changes, and invite guests whenever you're ready (step 4).

  3. In Add guests, search by name, party or category (1), or tick guests one by one. To tick a whole party at once, choose Select all (or Select both) beside its name (2), which then reads Deselect. Then choose Add (3), which shows how many you've ticked.

  4. To invite more later, click the event, open its Who's invited tab and choose Add guests (1). To take someone off, choose the cross beside their name (2) and then Remove.

Good to know

  • The list hides some guests at first. Guests who've told you they're not coming to the wedding are hidden: choose Not coming at the top to show them. Guests already invited aren't listed, and nor are vendors.
  • A removed guest can no longer see the event or RSVP to it.
  • Watch your RSVP forms. If every event on a form is private, guests you haven't invited are told they can't RSVP there. Forms & RSVPs warns you when that happens.
  • Turned Private event off? The event goes back to being for everyone on your list.
  • Planning a few days? Plan a wedding over several days shows how the events fit together.
