Works on your phone

Your Inbox keeps everything guests send you in one place, like an email inbox. Photos and short videos they share, voice and video messages they record for you, notes from your guestbook, and every RSVP reply (coming or not, with any note they leave) all land here, newest first.

Steps

  1. Open Inbox from the sidebar, under Dashboard. The number beside it is how many things you haven't opened yet. On a phone, a dot on the menu button tells you there's something new.

  2. Anything you haven't opened is bold with a dot beside it. Click it to read it on the right (on a phone, it opens on its own screen; tap the arrow to go back). Opening it marks it as read.

  3. To see just one kind of thing, choose Photos & videos, Messages, Notes, Replies or Waiting for you at the top of the list. Messages shows the voice and video messages guests recorded for you, and Notes the ones they wrote in your guestbook. Waiting for you shows the photos and notes that aren't on your website yet, anything a guest has reported, and anyone asking to join your guest list.

  4. For a photo, video or guestbook note, choose Put on the wall to show it on your website, Hide to keep it off, or Delete to remove it for good. Download saves a photo or video to your device.

  5. If a guest reports a photo, video or note, it says Reported, waiting for you, with their reason if they gave one. It's already off the big screen and every guest's page. Choose Keep to put it back where it was, or Remove to hide it.

  6. For a voice message, press play to hear it. For a video message, it plays right there. Choose Download to keep a copy, Hide to keep it out of your voice messages as one recording, or Delete to remove it for good.

  7. For an RSVP reply, you'll see each guest's answer for every event and the note they left. Choose Open in Guests to see that guest's details.

  8. Choose Mark all as read at the top to clear everything you've already seen.

  9. To keep your own copy of everything, choose Download everything at the top. Switch on what you want (photos, videos, voice and video messages, notes as a guestbook you can print, and the photos you hid if you'd like them too), then choose Prepare my download. A small one starts straight away; for a big wedding we'll email you a link, usually within 10 minutes.

Good to know

  • Guests can leave a note on the last step of your RSVP form. If they can't make it, the form asks "Sorry you can't make it? Leave them a note". Every reply lands in your Inbox, with or without a note. You also get an email the morning after guests reply: change how often under Reply emails in your RSVP form's Reminders.
  • Photos come from your website's photo page and from the page guests scan at the venue. Notes come from your website's guestbook and from Write a note on that same page, which works without a website.
  • On a reveal night, you see every photo as it's taken. Your guests see them together when they develop.
  • New photos go up straight away on newer websites, and new notes wait for you. On a website set up before photos went straight up, new photos wait for you too. To change either, choose Settings in your Inbox and switch Put new photos up straight away or Put new notes up straight away on or off.
  • Voice and video messages are yours alone. Guests never see them, and they never go on your website or the slideshow. Guests leave one from your guest page, or from your RSVP form when they can't make it.
  • The morning after your wedding, we email you what guests shared. At 9:30am you get last night's photos, videos and messages counted, a few favourites and the first voice message, then a short update on each of the next six days that has something new. See After the wedding: your album and your memories.
  • What you've read is yours alone. If your partner or planner opens your Inbox, it doesn't mark anything as read for you.
