Plans change, and that's fine. Once you've saved your new date or names in Settings (see Change your names, wedding date or location), some things update by themselves and a few are yours to check, so guests never see the old details.

What updates by itself

  • Your countdown and the Your wedding card on your dashboard.
  • Your cards and emails. Your names and date fill their placeholders.
  • Your time zone, if you picked your new place from the suggestions.

Steps

  1. Move your events. Your events keep their own dates, including the Reception WedBuild made for you. Open Events and change each one.

  2. Re-date your checklist. Due dates don't move by themselves. Open Checklist, choose Settings, then Recalculate dates (1). The tasks from the ready-made checklist move to fit your new date. Tasks you added yourself keep their dates, so check those too.

  3. Check your website. Guests see your website as it was when you last published. Open Website, check your names and date on the page, then publish again.

  4. Check your RSVP dates. If you set an RSVP deadline, your form still closes on the old date. The same goes for Flag meal changes after, the day your caterer needs final numbers. Open Forms & RSVPs, go to the RSVP tab, and change both under Sharing.

  5. Tell your guests. Emails you've already sent can't change. Send a new one from Communications (the Custom Message template works well), or a fresh save the date. See Send your save the date by email.

Good to know

  • Changing your names doesn't change your web address. Your links and QR codes keep working. You can change the address yourself in Settings, on the Guest links tab, but links you've already shared then stop working.
  • Haven't picked a new date yet? Tick We haven't decided on a date yet in Settings. It clears the old date, in your checklist too, and the countdown waits until you choose one. Your tasks keep their due dates until you pick the new date and recalculate them (step 2).
  • Your partner can change these details too, and you both see the same thing.
