Works on your phone

Once your account is ready, WedBuild asks a few quick questions so everything starts with your names and your date. There are two short steps, and you can change every answer later.

Steps

  1. On Welcome to WedBuild (step 1 of 2), type Your First Name and Partner's First Name. Last names are optional.

  2. Under Wedding Date, choose Pick a date. Haven't decided yet? Tick We're still deciding on a date instead.

  3. In Wedding Location/City, start typing your city and pick it from the suggestions. That sets your wedding's time zone, so invitations and reminders arrive at the right local time. If your city doesn't come up, choose Continue a second time to keep what you typed.

  4. Set your Estimated Guest Count. Type a number, or drag the slider for a rough guess. Then choose Continue.

  5. On What brings you here? (step 2 of 2), tick anything you'd like help with, such as Guest List Management or Wedding Website, and tell us how you heard about WedBuild if you like. Both are optional. Then choose Finish setup.

After a moment of Setting up your account, your dashboard opens with a short tour of what's on it.

What's ready for you

When you finish, WedBuild sets up:

  • a ready-made checklist, with due dates worked out from your wedding date,
  • a Reception event at 6pm, on your wedding date if you've chosen one and at the place you entered (change it any time in Events),
  • the two of you on your guest list,
  • your web address for your website and RSVP forms, made from your first names (like johnandmarie),
  • your free 7-day Pro trial, with no card needed.

Not sure where to start? See Your first week: what to set up first.

Good to know

  • Still deciding on a date? That's fine. Your dashboard shows Set your date where the countdown would be, and checklist tasks start without due dates. Once you've chosen a date, add it in Settings, then open Checklist, choose Settings and Recalculate dates.
  • Everything here can change later, on the Wedding tab of Settings. See Change your names, wedding date or location.
  • Your guest count is only a rough number for planning. Your guest list keeps the real count, and on Essentials and during the trial it holds up to 50 guests.
  • Interrupted part way? Come back on the same device within 7 days and your answers are still there.
