Planning is easier together. Invite your partner, your planner or anyone helping, and choose how much each of them can see and do.
Steps
-
Open Settings and choose Sharing (1), then Share (2).
-
Type their email (1) and choose the kind of access (2). For your partner, choose Partner. The other kinds are explained below.
-
Add a note if you like, then choose Send invitation (3).
-
They get an email from WedBuild. They choose View the invitation, sign in (or create a free account with that same email address), then Accept invitation. Nothing is shared until they accept. Your partner then goes straight into your wedding.
Which kind of access?
- Partner is for your other half, or family planning with you. They see and can change everything, it becomes their wedding too, and they can share it with others. You can have up to 5 partners.
- Planner is for your hired wedding planner. They see and can change everything from their own planner account, and the wedding stays yours. They can share it with others as View only.
- View only is for your wedding party or vendors. They can look and print, but can't change anything. They see your run sheet, seating chart (the one you've marked final), dietary and accessibility report, guest list, guest contact details and wedding website, unless you choose Customise and untick some. Your budget, checklist, forms, emails and website editor are never shared this way.
Change or remove access
- Everyone you've invited is listed under Shared with, with their kind of access and where things stand: Invitation sent or Has access. You can also see what they've opened.
- If someone declines, their invitation simply leaves the list. We don't send you a message about it, and you can invite them again whenever you like.
- For View only people, choose Change access, tick what they can see, then Save.
- Choose Remove to take someone's access away straight away. We email them to say it has ended. For an invitation that hasn't been accepted yet, choose Withdraw.
- To change someone's kind of access, remove them and invite them again.
Good to know
- Ask your partner to accept before setting up a wedding of their own. An account that already has a wedding can't join yours as a partner, though you can still share View only. If they started setting one up but never finished, they can discard it and accept.
- Invitations last 30 days. If one runs out before they accept, invite them again.
- Sharing is free on every plan, for you and for everyone you invite.
- Your wedding's plan covers everyone you share with. Only you see the Plan tab, so only you can change it.
- The AI assistant that knows your wedding's details stays with your login. Your partner can still use the chat to ask how the app works.
- Someone asked to see more? A notice appears on your dashboard, with a count on the Sharing tab. Choose Grant or Dismiss.
