Works on your phone

Already have a finished wedding website somewhere else? You can still use WedBuild for RSVPs, emails and cards, and send guests to your own site whenever they go looking for your website.

This isn't how to put your WedBuild website on your own domain. For that, see Connect a domain you own.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and go to the Guest links tab (Links on a phone). Under Where your guests go, choose A website you built somewhere else (1). Choosing it only opens the next step. Nothing changes for your guests yet.

  2. Under The address of your finished website, paste your site's address (2), such as www.ourwedding.com. You can leave out the https:// part. Then choose Send guests here (3).

  3. WedBuild asks you to confirm. Choose Open it and check (1) to make sure the address opens the right site, then Yes, send guests there (2).

The option now says In use, and every website link guests get points to your own site.

Good to know

  • Your RSVP form, emails and cards keep working as normal. Only the website links change, such as the website button in your emails and on your cards, and the button guests see after they RSVP.
  • Your WedBuild address passes guests on to your site, so QR codes you've already printed and emails you've already sent still get people there.
  • Your WedBuild website isn't shown to anyone while this is on. When you open Website, WedBuild reminds you and asks you to type continue before the editor opens.
  • To switch back, open this option again and choose Stop sending guests here. Guests go to your WedBuild website again straight away, and your address stays saved for next time.
  • Using a domain you own instead? The two can't be on at once. Stop sending guests to your other site first.
