Seat guests on the Visual Seating Chart

Click a seat on the room, tick one or more guests and choose Assign. Several guests sit together, clockwise from the seat you clicked.

Once your tables are in the room, give every guest their own seat. You can seat one person at a time, or a whole family in one go, and it saves as you go.

Steps

  1. In the Visual Seating Chart, click an empty seat on the room (it shows a +). Or open Tables on the right, click a table, and click one of its seats.

  2. The seat picker opens on the right, named for the seat you chose, like Table 2, Seat 1. Tick the guest who sits there (1). To seat several people together, tick them all: they're seated clockwise from this seat, and each one shows the seat number they'll get. Seat Party ticks everyone in that party at once.

  3. Choose Assign Guest, or Assign 2 Guests (2) and so on.

  4. Keep going until everyone has a seat. To seat, beside Tables, lists who's still waiting, grouped by party.

Swap two guests

Open the View tool on the left and switch on Guest swap mode (1). Seated guests get a green outline: drag one onto another and they swap seats, even at different tables. Switch it off when you're done.

Good to know

  • Someone already in that seat? The picker shows them under Currently, with Remove to free the seat.
  • Find guests quickly with the search box and the sliders button, which sorts and filters by reply or category. Suggested shows people who are likely to belong there, like the rest of a party.
  • Not enough room going clockwise? WedBuild tells you, and may offer to start from another seat instead.
  • Guests who declined are folded away at the bottom of To seat, so they don't get in the way.
  • A Final chart stops being Final when its seating changes. Choose Mark as Final again when you're done. See Mark your final chart.
  • Seated everyone in Drag & Drop already? Choose Import at the top of the chart, pick that chart and choose Import Guests. It works when both charts have the same number of tables, each with the same number of seats, and it replaces anyone seated in this room.
  • Each seat is coloured by dietary need. See See dietary needs at each table.
