Not sure whether your cousins should sit near the band? Keep a few versions of your plan side by side, then mark the one you're going with as Final. The Visual and Drag & Drop charts both work this way.

Steps

  1. Along the top of the chart is its name (click it to rename the chart), with Saved charts, New Version, Save As and Mark as Final.

  2. To try a different idea without losing this one, choose Save As. Give the copy a Name (1) and choose Save Copy (2). You carry on in the copy, and the original stays as it was. New Version starts again from scratch instead: an empty room on the Visual chart, or a chart with no tables on Drag & Drop.

  3. To go back to another version, choose Saved charts (1). Under Other Versions (2), click the one you want. Its bin deletes it, after asking you first.

  4. When a plan is ready, choose Mark as Final (1). If anyone still hasn't got a seat, WedBuild tells you how many and asks first: choose Mark as Final (2) to go ahead, or Keep Seating (3).

  5. The chart now has a Final tag beside its name, and the button reads Unmark as Final.

What Final does

  • It copies everyone's table and seat to your guest list. That's what Find My Seat shows your guests, and what the Dashboard's numbers count.
  • People you've shared your wedding with as View only see the chart you've marked Final.
  • Only one chart is Final at a time, across the Visual and Drag & Drop charts. Marking one un-marks the other.

Good to know

  • Changing the seating on a Final chart un-marks it. Find My Seat keeps showing the seats from the last time you marked a chart Final, and a banner on the chart says so: Find My Seat still shows your last final chart. Choose Mark as Final in the banner when you're done.
  • On the Dashboard, your Final chart has a Final tag and sits at the top of its list.
  • You can't delete the chart you have open. Open another one first.
  • On a phone, Saved lists your charts, and the ⋮ menu has New Version, Save As and Mark as Final.
