Works on your phone
Find My Seat saves you a seating board and a queue at the door. Guests scan a QR code, type their name and see their table, their seat and where it is in the room. Nobody needs an app or an account.
Steps
-
Seat everyone in your seating chart and choose Mark as Final. That copies each guest's table and seat to your guest list, which is what Find My Seat shows. See Mark your final chart.
-
Open Seating and choose the QR Seating Chart tab. Under Room layout, choose Generate Tables (1) to place a table for every table number your guests have. If you've drawn your room in the Visual chart, you can bring it in instead. Then choose Edit Layout (2).
-
Drag the tables to where they'll stand. Element (1) adds a stage, dance floor, bar, entry, photo booth, gifts table or your own words, and Background lets you upload a floor plan or a photo of the venue. Choose Save Layout (2) when you're done, or Cancel to leave it as it was.
-
Under Share with guests, choose the copy button (1) to copy your Find My Seat link, or Download PNG and choose a size (2) to print the QR code on a sign, a table card or a menu.
-
To try it yourself, choose Preview Guest Experience. Guests type their first and last name and choose Find my seat, then see their table and seat, with a map of the room underneath.
Good to know
- Guests see your last saved layout. Your changes reach them when you choose Save Layout.
- Generate Tables replaces the tables already on your layout, and saves straight away. Your elements and background stay.
- Your guest list stays private. Guests type their whole name, as it's on your guest list, and see only their own table, their seat and who's sitting with them. A guest without a table yet is told the name wasn't found. Until anyone has a table, the page says Seating Assignments Coming Soon. If you've turned on Share photos or added Menus and more under What guests can do from your QR code, guests see those instead until the seats are ready.
- Two guests with the same name at different tables are shown both table numbers, but not who's at them.
- Your link uses your wedding's own address, set in Settings under Guest links. Until you set one, the QR code can't be downloaded.
- Changed the seating after marking it Final? A banner on the chart says Find My Seat still shows your last final chart. Choose Mark as Final again so it shows the new seats.
- Put the code on your cards too. A QR code on a Studio card can open Find My Seat. See Make a QR code for your paper invitations.
- Setting it up comes with Pro, and you can use it during the free Pro trial. Guests never need a plan or an account.
