Works on your phone

Yes, you can. WedBuild makes a QR code for your wedding website, and a QR code on any card you design in Studio can open your RSVP form instead. Guests scan it with their phone camera, no app needed.

Steps

The simplest route is your website's QR code: one picture you can drop onto any invitation design.

  1. Publish your website first. Its QR code appears as soon as it's live.

  2. Open Website from the sidebar and choose Site at the top of the editor. (In the classic editor, choose Settings to open Publishing Settings.)

  3. On the Overview tab, under QR code, choose Download QR Code (1). You get a PNG picture, 512 by 512 pixels, black on white, named after your web address (for example wedding-website-qr-johnmarie.png).

A QR code that opens your RSVP form

If you design your invitation in Studio, you can put the code right on the card, and choose where it goes.

  1. Open Studio from the sidebar, click your invitation and choose Edit. (A card you have already sent opens view only.)

  2. In the Add tab, choose QR code (1), then Add a QR code (2). A new code opens your website to start with.

  3. Click the QR code on your card. On the right, under Where it goes, open Scans to and choose your RSVP form (1). It's listed by its name, such as Main RSVP Form. Want a code for your website too? Add a second QR code and leave it on Wedding website.

  4. Choose Download or print. Leave Format (1) on the PDF for printing, pick a size, and choose Download PDF (2). It prints sharp at any size. Want a picture instead? Set Format to the PNG image.

Good to know

  • Check it scans before you print. Open the picture or PDF on your computer screen and point your phone's camera at the code: it should open your website or RSVP form. Then print one copy at the real size and scan that too.
  • Make sure your RSVP form is open in Forms & RSVPs (opens in a new tab), or guests who scan the code will find it closed. See Open your RSVP form and share the link.
  • The seating QR code is a different one. The code on Seating's QR Seating Chart tab opens Find My Seat, where guests look up their table on the day. It's for signs at your venue, not for invitations.
  • Settle your web address before you print. Changing it in Settings (opens in a new tab) stops codes you've already printed from working. If you've connected your own domain, your website's QR code uses it.
  • Designing your invitation somewhere else? Use the website's QR code as it is. For the RSVP form, copy the RSVP Main Form link from Settings, Guest links, and paste it into your design tool's QR code maker.
  • More places a card's code can go: your other RSVP forms, Find my seat, Run sheet, Contact details, Guest sign-up, This card online, or any link with Something else…. Anything you haven't set up yet shows as not set up and can't be picked.
  • On a phone, the website editor's Site is in the ⋮ menu at the top.
  • Every QR code in one place: All your QR codes, under the website's code, opens the QR codes page, with your photo sharing code (Pro) and more.
