Works on your phone

WedBuild sets up your RSVP forms the first time you open them, so there's nothing to create. Most changes wait until you save, so you can try things and watch the preview as you go.

Steps

  1. Open Forms & RSVPs from the sidebar and choose the RSVP tab. You have three RSVP forms, each with its own link: Main RSVP Form, Custom Form 1 and Custom Form 2. The pencil next to a form's name renames it.

  2. Under Sharing, switch Form status on (1). Your form's link sits just above it, with Copy link (2). The eye button beside it opens the real form in a new tab.

  3. Under Who can reply (1), choose Guest List Only so only guests already on your list can RSVP: they type their name to find themselves. Or choose Open Guest List so anyone with the link can RSVP, and they're added to your guest list.

  4. Under Events, tick the events this form asks about (2). Only events with Collect RSVPs switched on show here, and a form needs at least one before it can open. Events marked Private only show to the guests you've invited to them.

  5. Under Questions, switch on what you'd like to ask (1), such as email, dietary requirements, phone number, mailing address or song requests. Each one can be Required, and the pencil changes its wording. To ask something of your own, choose Add question (2).

  6. Choose Save changes (3). Until you do, guests still get the form as it was before.

  7. Choose Copy link under Sharing and paste it into an email, a message or your wedding website. Guests type their name, choose which events they're coming to, answer your questions and check everything before they send it.

Preview any form before guests see it

Every form, whether it's an RSVP form, Contact Details or Guest Self Entry, shows a live preview on the right of exactly what guests will see. Choose Phone or Computer to switch screens, and use the steps above the preview to move through the form. On a phone, tap Preview at the top of the form.

If a form is closed, its preview shows the Form Closed page guests would get, in the words they'd read. To look at the form itself, switch Form status on without saving (1) and step through it (2). Guests still see Form Closed until you save. When you're done, choose Discard (3) to put it back.

Good to know

  • Copying a closed form's link warns you. If the form is closed, or your Form status change isn't saved yet, a note tells you. The link still copies, so you can share it once the form is open.
  • A form whose events are all private is invite-only. Only guests invited to at least one of those events can RSVP, and the Events section tells you how many that is. Anyone else is told "We can't take your RSVP here" and asked to get in touch with you. Invite them from Events, or turn off Private event for one of the events. While every event is private, nobody new can add themselves on an Open Guest List form either.
  • Your own questions save straight away. The Your own questions section says Saves automatically, so they don't wait for Save changes.
  • Open in new tab is the real form. On an open form, anything sent from it counts as a real reply, so use the preview to look around. On a closed form, you'll see the form with a note that it's closed to guests, and nothing you enter is saved.
  • All your forms share one web address. It's set in Settings under Guest links.
  • On the Essentials plan your list holds up to 50 guests, and that limit stays during the free Pro trial. Guests who add themselves through an Open Guest List form count towards it.
