Works on your phone
Your editor saves your work as you go, but guests only see it once you publish. Publishing takes a moment, and WedBuild checks your website for you on the way, so nothing goes out half-finished.
Steps
-
Open Website and choose Publish website at the top right. Once your website is live, the same button says Republish (1). On a phone, it's in the ⋮ menu at the top.
-
WedBuild goes through your website row by row: your web address, menu links, RSVP buttons, other buttons and links, events and dates, your details and any placeholder words. Each row turns into a tick, or says what it found. Show me takes you to the spot on your page.
-
When the rows are done, choose Publish now or Republish (1). If something is worth a look, the button says Publish anyway (or Republish anyway): put it right first and choose Check again, or go ahead.
-
That's it. The top of the editor says Live, with the version number, and your web address beside it.
In the classic editor
If a Try the new website editor banner runs across the top of your editor, you're in the classic editor. Choose Publish website (or Republish) in the same place. WedBuild asks Publish Wedding Website? (or Republish Website?): choose Publish Now (or Republish). If a button on your site opens an RSVP form that's closed, Closed forms linked from your site asks first: open the form, or choose Publish anyway.
Good to know
- Made changes but guests can't see them? Choose Republish. Every change waits for it.
- It can take up to a minute for a change to reach every guest.
- Two things stop a publish: your website has no web address yet, or a menu link goes to a section that's no longer on your page. The checks say which, and how to fix it. Deleting a section takes its menu link with it, so the second is rare.
- Each republish keeps a copy of the version guests saw before, so you can go back to it in History. The last 2 are kept. See Undo, or restore an earlier version.
- Your web address is changed in Settings, or in the editor's Site with Edit address. See Change your web address.
- On the free Essentials plan, and during the free trial, the foot of your published website has a small Made with WedBuild line. Standard and Pro websites don't.
