Works on your phone

A photo behind your names or your story sets the mood beautifully. Each section can have its own background, and your whole website can have one too, showing through every section that doesn't have its own.

Behind one section

  1. Open Website and click a section's name at the top-left corner of the section. Then choose the Background tab. It opens on This section.

  2. Choose Photo (1) and pick a photo from Your photos. Replace photo (2) swaps it for another.

  3. Under When guests scroll (3), choose Moves with the page, or Stays still to have the page slide over the photo as guests scroll.

  4. Under Placement, Zoom (4) brings the photo closer, and Horizontal and Vertical choose which part of it shows. Reset puts it back.

  5. Words hard to read on a busy photo? Further down, switch on Tint over it and set its colour and Strength.

Behind your whole website

  1. On the Background tab, choose Whole website (1), then Photo (2), and pick a photo.

  2. Under When guests scroll, choose Stays still, or Stretches over the whole site to have one photo run from the top of your site to the bottom.

  3. Under Placement, choose Desktop or Phone, then set Zoom, Stretch, Horizontal and Vertical. Zoom below 100% to see all of the photo and move it to any edge. Stretch makes it taller without zooming in.

  4. Choose Republish (or Publish website) so your guests see it.

Good to know

  • A section with its own background covers the website background. Sections set to Website background show it. If plain sections are covering it, Show it behind every section sets them all to show it in one go. Sections on a photo or a bold colour band keep theirs.
  • Phones follow the desktop at first. With Phone follows the desktop ticked, phones use the desktop's zoom, stretch and position. Change anything while Phone is chosen and phones get their own.
  • Want sections you add later to show it? Tick New sections show the website background.
  • Match the menu bar to it with Match Page Background, under Menu and RSVP button at the top of the Sections tab.
  • A colour or gradient works the same way: choose Colour or Gradient instead of Photo.
