Works on your phone

Don't worry, a not-found page almost never means your website is lost. Usually the link is a little different from your real address, or the site isn't switched on right now. These checks find it in a minute or two.

Steps

  1. Copy your exact link. Open Settings and go to Guest links. Under Your address, click the address or its copy button (1). The Wedding website box says Live (2) when guests can see your site.

The Website card on your dashboard shows your address too. Once your site is live, click the address to open it (1).

  2. Check the link has /public/w/ in it. Your website's address looks like https://app.wedbuild.com/public/w/yournames. A shortened one, like wedbuild.com/yournames or app.wedbuild.com/yournames, opens a Page Not Found page.

  3. Seeing Wedding Website Not Found? That page means there's no live website at that address right now.

Open Website. If the top of the editor says Not published yet, choose Publish website. Your site goes live the moment you publish. This is the same in both website editors.

  4. Check who can see it. In the editor, choose Site at the top, then Privacy. (In the classic editor, choose Settings to open Publishing Settings.) Website Active (1) keeps your site online. If it was switched off, the editor says Not published yet and the switch stays hidden until you choose Publish website again. With Password Protection (2) on, guests see a password page first, which is expected.

Good to know

  • Changed your address? Links, bookmarks and QR codes with the old address stop working, and the old one doesn't forward to the new one. Share your new link, and check anything you've printed.
  • Just published? A change can take up to a minute to reach every guest.
  • Shared a Preview link? Preview links last 2 hours, then show Preview Link Expired. Send your real address instead.
  • Has your paid plan ended? WedBuild takes your website offline when a paid plan expires. Once you renew, publish it again from Website.
  • Sending guests to a website you built somewhere else? Your WedBuild address passes guests on to that site, so a problem there shows up here. Check the address under Where your guests go in Settings, Guest links.
  • On your own domain? Nearly ready means the domain is connected but your website isn't live there yet. Only your domain's home page shows your website: your RSVP and other guest links stay on your WedBuild address. See Connect a domain you own.
  • Still stuck with the exact copied link? Email us at hello@wedbuild.com with the address you opened and what the page said.
