Works on your phone

Need addresses for your invitations, or email addresses before you send a save the date? The Contact Details form asks guests on your list for exactly that, with no RSVP. What they send goes straight onto your guest list.

Steps

  1. Open Forms & RSVPs from the sidebar and choose the Contact Details tab (on a phone it's called Contact).

  2. Under Sharing, switch Form status on (2). Your form's link sits just above it, with Copy link (1).

  3. Under Questions, switch on what you'd like to ask: Ask for Email, Ask for Phone Number and Ask for Mailing Address (3). Each one can be Required, and the pencil changes its wording.

  4. Choose Save changes (4). Until you do, guests see Form Closed.

  5. Choose Copy link and send the link to your guests in an email or a message.

What your guests do

They open the link, type their first and last name and choose it under Is this you? Everyone in their party comes up with them, so one person can fill in the details for the whole party. A Copy from link reuses the first person's answer, which saves typing the same address twice. Then they send it.

Good to know

  • Their answers update your guest list straight away. The email, phone number or address a guest sends replaces the one on their details in Guests.
  • Only guests on your list can use it. Guests find themselves by name, so add everyone to your list first. See Import your guest list from a spreadsheet.
  • Your list stays private. The form only finds a guest by their whole name, so nobody can look through your list by typing a letter or two. A guest who types one name that isn't found is asked: "Please enter your first and last name." Anyone who tries too many names in a minute is asked to wait: "Too many search requests. Please try again later."
  • It shares your web address with your other forms. All your forms use the web address set in Settings under Guest links.
  • Switch it off when you're done, with Form status and Save changes. Guests who open the link then see Form Closed.
  • You can still look at it while it's closed. Open its link in the browser you're signed in to WedBuild with, and you'll see the form with a note that it's closed to guests. Nothing you enter there is saved.
