Import your guest list from a spreadsheet
Go to Guests, choose Import, and upload an Excel or CSV file. WedBuild shows you every guest it found before anyone is added.

Already have your guests in a spreadsheet? You can bring the whole list across in one go, and nobody is added until you've checked it.
Steps

Open Guests from the sidebar and choose Import at the top of the page.

Under Start from our template, choose Excel (1) or CSV to download our template. Already keeping a list? You can upload it as it is, as long as it has a Name column, or First Name and Last Name columns.

Fill in your guests. Only the name is required. A nickname, email, phone, mailing address, notes and other names (a maiden name, say) are optional. Nicknames help guests find their invitation on your RSVP form.

Drop your file on the upload box, or choose Choose a file (2). Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV files both work.

Check what WedBuild found. You'll see how many guests and parties are in the file, anything that needs a look under Before you import, and your guests grouped by party. Picked the wrong file? Choose Change file.

Choose the button at the bottom to finish. It says Import and the number of guests when everything looks right. If WedBuild spots a phone number to check, it says Review Issues instead, and if some guests are already on your list it says Review Duplicates. Work through those screens, then import.
Good to know
- Keep families together by leaving a blank row between parties. Each group of rows becomes one party, so couples and families stay together.
- Importing adds to your list. Nobody already on it is replaced, so you can import more than one file.
- Duplicates are caught. Guests whose name or email is already on your list are shown on their own screen. Tick any you still want to import.
- A file exported from WedBuild imports as it is, with names, other names, contact details, notes and parties kept.
- On the Essentials plan your list holds up to 50 guests, and that limit stays during the free Pro trial. If your file has more new guests than will fit, the check step tells you before you import.
