Buy texts to text your guests

In Guests, choose Texts, then Buy texts and pick a pack for your wedding. Every text starts with your names, and texts that can't be delivered come back.

Want WedBuild to text your guests their links and reminders, so you don't have to send each one from your own phone? Buy a pack of texts for your wedding. Every text starts with your names, so guests know it's from you. Pro comes with 50 texts, and your free trial with 10 to try it. Packs work on any plan, so you buy more when you need them.

Steps

  1. Open Guests from the sidebar and choose Texts at the top (on a phone, the texts button at the top). Choose Buy texts. The first time you choose Text anywhere in WedBuild, the same window opens.

  2. Text your guests suggests a pack from your guest list, from the households with a mobile we can text. Pick 50, 150, 400 or 1,000 texts. Each pack shows its price in your currency and what each text works out at. Shown in changes the currency.

  3. Choose the button with your pack and its price, like Buy 400 texts, and pay on the secure checkout. You come back to WedBuild with your texts added, and your receipt arrives by email.

  4. Now Text on a guest and Text household on Personal links, and Text all on a reminder's Text these list, send from WedBuild. See Text every guest their own link.

What a text uses

  • One text per message of up to 160 characters (70 if it has an emoji or a letter from another alphabet). A longer message uses more, and the screen says so before you send.
  • Long messages use more. 160 characters fit in one text. An emoji, or a letter from another alphabet, cuts a text to 70 characters. Before anything goes, the review screen counts every household's text.
  • Texts that come with your plan are used first. On the free trial you have 10 to try texting. Pay for Pro and you have 50 in all, however many of the 10 you tried. They last as long as a pack's.
  • Where we can text: mobiles in Australia, for now. Guests with a number from anywhere else can't be texted yet: email or WhatsApp them instead.
  • Replies: guests can text back, and their replies land in your Inbox. See Read and answer guests' texts.

Good to know

  • The Texts page shows your Texts left, how many you've Sent and how many were delivered, Failed, returned, and guests' Replies. History lists your sends and packs, each pack with its Receipt, and What a message uses lists each country.
  • Texts that can't be delivered come back to your balance by themselves, for a wrong number or a phone that's switched off.
  • Unused texts last until 12 months after your wedding. The Texts page shows the date.
  • Changed your mind? A pack with no texts used can be refunded in full within 14 days. Reply to your receipt email.
  • Running low? Buy more sits beside your balance (like "312 texts left") on Personal links and Text these, and Buy more texts on the Texts page.
  • Only the couple, or the planner who manages your wedding, can buy texts and send them.
  • Your own phone still works, for free. WhatsApp and Send one by one on Personal links send from your own phone. See Send each guest their own link to your website.
