Works on your phone

Helpful when someone else is gathering names for you, like your parents with their friends. Guests fill in a short form with everyone in their party, and their request waits for you. Nobody joins your guest list until you approve them.

Steps

  1. Open Forms & RSVPs from the sidebar and choose the Guest Self Entry tab (on a phone it's called Self Entry).

  2. Under Sharing, switch Form status on (1) and choose Copy link to copy the form's link. Under Questions, choose whether to ask for an email, a phone number or a mailing address, and whether each is Required.

  3. Choose Save changes, then send the link to whoever is gathering names.

  4. Guests choose Start Registration, add the first and last name of everyone in their party (Add Guest adds another person), answer your questions and send it. They're told their request is waiting for your approval.

  5. To review requests, choose View Guest Requests (2) at the foot of the form, or open Guests from the sidebar and choose the Requests tab.

  6. New requests wait under Pending, and the ones you've decided move to History (1). Open a request to see who's in it, then choose Approve all or Deny all, or Approve or Deny for someone on their own. In a party you can also decide for each person. Approving adds them to your guest list.

Good to know

  • Approved guests count towards your plan's guest limit. On the Essentials plan your list holds up to 50 guests, and that limit stays during the free Pro trial.
  • The Dashboard shows waiting requests too. On the Dashboard tab of Forms & RSVPs, the Guest Self Entry tile says how many are waiting, with Review.
  • Want people added without checking them first? An RSVP form set to Open Guest List adds guests as they reply. See Guest List Only or Open Guest List: which to choose.
  • Switch it off when you're done, with Form status and Save changes. Guests who open the link then see Form Closed.
  • You can still look at it while it's closed. Open its link in the browser you're signed in to WedBuild with, and you'll see the form with a note that it's closed to guests. Nothing you enter there is saved.
