Works on your phone
A wedding over several days, with guests invited to different events, is easy to share. Each guest gets their own link to an itinerary of only what they're invited to, with the times, the venue and directions, and the dress code for each event. No account or login is needed.
Steps
-
Set up your events in Events (opens in a new tab) as you normally would. Give each one its date, times, Venue, address and Dress code. Make an event private and tick who's invited to it, and only those guests will see it. Who's invited is set once, here, and every guest's itinerary follows it.
-
In Itinerary (opens in a new tab), choose Share. Under Personal itineraries, switch on Give each guest their own itinerary (1). Leave Let guests find theirs by name (2) on if guests should be able to open theirs by typing their name on your link. Then choose Save.
-
Your events now appear on their days in your itinerary, each with the moments that are part of it underneath, just as guests will see them. If an event's date has no day yet, choose Add their days and WedBuild adds one for each date. Add the detail under any event with Add a moment to it, like the henna artists starting or the baraat arriving, and change an event with Edit on its card.
-
Beside the phone preview, choose Preview as (1) and pick any guest. The preview shows exactly what their link will show: only their events, and only the moments for them. Use Copy link or Open (2) to see it on your own phone.
-
Send everyone their link by email or WhatsApp. See Send each guest their itinerary link.
Good to know
- Guests only ever see what they're invited to. An event they aren't invited to isn't on their itinerary at all, not even greyed out.
- Families share one itinerary. A guest's link shows everyone in their party. Anything only some of them are invited to is marked with their names, like Priya & Anaya only.
- Changes show straight away. Change an event's time, venue or dress code in Events and every guest who's invited sees it the next time they open their link, marked Updated.
- Each event and moment has Add to calendar, and Directions wherever there's an address. Directions opens Google Maps or Apple Maps. Guests can also add all their events to their calendar at once.
- On a phone the days stay in reach. The title and the day chips stay at the top while guests scroll, with the day they're on marked, so they can jump between days at any point.
- Keep an event off itineraries by switching off Show on guests' itineraries in the event's form, for a vendor meal, say.
- Events a guest has said no to stay on their itinerary, folded away and marked You said you can't make it, in case plans change.
- Finding theirs by name asks for a guest's full name, as on their invitation. Anyone who knows a guest's full name can open that guest's itinerary, as on your RSVP form. Switch Let guests find theirs by name off to send personal links only. If your itinerary has a password, it's asked for first. A personal link never needs it.
- Testing it? Add yourself to your guest list, invite yourself to an event or two, then choose your name under Preview as.
